Harvesting Collard Greens for Thanksgiving Treat for Staff!

The Garden and Art Club once again has teamed with the Culinary Arts to teach how to best prepare collard greens for Thanksgiving.

All chopped and washed!  Ready for the pot!

While the greens were being cut and washed, smoked turkey legs were being boiled to perfection.

After several hours of boiling, the water is ready for the freshly picked collard greens.

Cover and cook until done!

After boiling the smoked turkey for 2 hours, the pot is finally ready for the next stage of preparation.

After 3 hours of covered cooking, stirring and seasoning periodically, the greens are done!

Special thanks to all of the teachers and other staff members for participating.  Grow bags were distributed to everyone who wanted to try their hand at growing collards!  Our custodial staff and bus drivers too!  We even delivered some to our neighbors at PARC!
